How do I create a MX record in cPanal

An MX record, or Mail Exchange record, is used to specify the mail server responsible for accepting email messages on behalf of a domain. Here's how to add an MX record in cPanel:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.

  2. In the "Mail" section, click on the "MX Entry" icon.

  3. Select the domain you want to add the MX record to from the drop-down menu.

  4. In the "Add New Record" section, set the "Priority" to the desired value. This value should be a number between 0 and 65535 and determines the order in which mail servers will be tried if multiple MX records are present. Lower values indicate a higher priority.

  5. In the "Destination" field, enter the hostname or IP address of the mail server that will handle email for the domain.

  6. Click on the "Add New Record" button.

  7. Confirm that the MX record has been added by checking the MX entry list.

Note that, some hosting providers may have different steps or interface to add the MX record, in that case please check the documentation provided by your hosting provider or contact the customer support. Also, you can have multiple MX records for a domain with different priority values, this is usually done for redundancy and failover purposes.
