How to add a TXT record in cPanel

A TXT record, or Text record, is used to store arbitrary text information associated with a domain or subdomain. Here's how to add a TXT record in cPanel:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.

  2. In the "Domains" section, click on the "Zone Editor" icon.

  3. Select the domain you want to add the TXT record to from the drop-down menu.

  4. Click on the "Add Record" button.

  5. In the "Type" field, select "TXT" from the drop-down menu.

  6. In the "Name" field, enter the subdomain you want to associate the TXT record with, or leave it blank to associate it with the root domain.

  7. In the "TXT Data" field, enter the text you want to associate with the domain or subdomain.

  8. Leave the "TTL" field as is, or adjust it as needed.

  9. Click on the "Add Record" button.

  10. Confirm that the TXT record has been added by checking the zone editor list.

TXT records are often used to store information like SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) records, which help to prevent email spoofing and ensure email deliverability.

As with the other types of records, it may take some time for the changes to propagate across the internet. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the TTL value you set.

Note that, some hosting providers may have different steps or interface to add the TXT record, in that case please check the documentation provided by us or contact the customer support.
